New Website for Medford Schools

The Medford school system has launched a new website just in time for the new school year.

According to School Superintendent Roy Belson, the new website will contain real-time information and gives staff the ability to customize the site with their own current information.  For example, principals can add information about their schools daily and coaches can post the latest scores.

Parents will no longer have to rely on the backpack express method of obtaining key info from their kids that can be easily misplaced.  The website will be up-to-date with important announcements such as snow days and event information.

“The whole concept of this stuff is to stay current,” said Belson.

The schools are also participating in the EdNets program, which raises cash for the schools with participating merchants.

Belson is excited about the program as an additional revenue source for the schools at a time when education aid continues to shrink.  More information about the program will be rolled out in the next few weeks.

Some kinks in the site are still being ironed out, as some sections are empty.  Belson said the goal is to get as much information as possible on the site and to keep it current.
