Former Pro Ball Player Sets up Shop in Medford

First Place Sports Complex Helps Players Hone Skills

David Valdez, a former infield player for the LA Dodgers and Seattle Mariners, recently opened up First Place Sports Complex in the same building as Gold’s Gym on Mystic Valley Parkway.  The sports training facility helps athletes at all levels, from Little Leaguers to current Red Sox sluggers, improve their running, hitting, pitching, and fielding skills. 

Valdez and his instructors use simple drills and special equipment, such as pitching machines that can hurl balls up to 90 miles per hour, to help athletes get to the top of their game.  Meet Valdez and check out some training exercises in this video highlight courtesy of JD Sports Video:
