Markey Meets with Irish Official on Energy, Environment

US Representative Ed Markey (D-Malden) recently met with Ireland’s Minister for Communications, Energy, and Natural Resources, Eamon Ryan, T.D., in Markey’s Washington, DC office.  Rep. Markey, chair of the House Committee on Telecommunications and the Internet and the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming, met with Ryan to discuss their shared interest in global climate change, the development of renewable energy sources, and the opportunities of international telecommunication policy.  Rep. Markey will likely work on fuel efficiency standards and will hold hearings on issues related to broadband deployment and media consolidation when Congress comes back from its summer recess.  Photo courtesy Ed Markey’s office.
