Local NAACP Branch Celebrates 30th

The Mystic Valley Area Branch NAACP will celebrate their 30th anniversary tonight at a special meeting at 7:30PM at the West Medford Baptist Church.

The Branch was originally founded as the Medford Branch and its charter dates back to September 12, 1977.  In addition to Medford, the Branch now serves Arlington, Everett, Malden, Winchester, and Woburn and changed its name to the Mystic Valley Area Branch in 2006.

Past presidents and members will reflect on branch history and the challenges the NAACP has faced and will face as it strives for racial justice.

A special 30th anniversary celebration is planned for December.
