Cancer Survivor Organizes Walk to Benefit Research Saturday, September 29:

Pancreatic cancer survivor Kathy Granara-Skerry has organized a 5K walk to benefit research at Massachuetts General Hospital.  There’s still time to participate- just lace up your shoes and show up at Playstead Park at 9AM to register with a $25 donation.

Sunday, September 30, 2007:

5K Run for Wednesday’s Child

Join WBZ-TV anchor Jack Williams and Middlesex Sheriff James DiPaola for a 5K run through the streets of Malden to raise money for Wednesday’s Child, a non-profit Williams founded to help hard to adopt children find homes.  Festivities kick off at 9AM from Malden’s Irish American Club and include post-race food and fun.

Head up to Tufts for their 5th annual Community Day for a complimentary lunch, pumpkin-painting, exhibits, activities and more.  Parking is free at the garage at 419 Boston Ave.  The fun starts at 11AM and goes until 3PM.

Archaelogical Exhibit Opens at Royall House

Check out what was unearthed during a 1999 archaelogical dig in a new exhibit at Medford’s historic Royall House.  Tours start at 1PM and end at 5PM.  The exhibit will be on display through October 28.
