Bomb Threat at Medford High School Causes Scare

Public Safety Officials Sweep Building and Find Nothing, Classes Resume

– Allison Goldsberry

A vague bomb threat called into the State Police for Medford High School and Peabody High School had MHS in lockdown mode for over an hour this afternoon.

The school was in lockdown from about 11:45AM until about 1:15PM while fire and public safety officials swept the building.

Nothing was found, and due to the vague nature of the threat and its lack of a specific time or location, classes have resumed at the high school.

During the lockdown, teachers were instructed to lock classroom doors and kept students in the class until further notice.  Teachers were also asked to report any “unaccounted items” immediately for investigation.
