Record Turnout for Super Tuesday in Medford

vote.pngFifty percent of Medford’s 33,605 registered voters turned out in the rain yesterday to cast their ballots in the presidential primary election. Here’s a look at some of the numbers from Super Tuesday:

Voters:

Registered voters in Medford- 33,605

Registered Democrats- 15,812

Registered Republicans- 2,539

Unenrolled voters- 15,074

Other parties (Green, Green-Rainbow, Libertarian, Working Families, Natural Law, Reform, Socialist, World Citizens Party)- 170

Turnout:

Tuesday’s total voter turnout- 16,837

Democratic voter turnout (includes unenrolled voters who selected Democratic ballot)- 13,437

Republican voter turnout (includes unenrolled voters who selected Republican ballot)- 3,384

Other turnout- 16

Number of Votes:

Hillary Clinton- 8,059

Barack Obama- 4,736

Mitt Romney- 1,765

John McCain- 1,352

    I have to say, I’m surprised that more Democrats did not turn out. This is such a historic event on the Dem’s side.

    Geez, its lonely being a Republican in this town; I think I used the only GOP Ballot in my ward. lol
