– Allison Goldsberry

Independent candidate Robert Valeri has received the endorsements from Citizens for Limited Taxation. Francis Faulkner, the group’s executive director, said they endorsed Valeri because of his strong support for limiting taxes and government spending.

“Taxpayers need people like Bob Valeri in the State Legislature to support to support the voters (sic) mandate on the income tax rollback, and to fight any attempt to opposed new taxes. Unlike his opponents, Bob has proudly taken the taxpayer protection pledge. This pledge asks candidates to ‘oppose and vote against any and all efforts to increase taxes,” said Faulkner in an announcement.

Sean GarballeyDemocratic candidate Sean Garballey will receive the endorsement of US Congressman Edward Markey (D-Malden), whose congressional district includes both Arlington and Medford. The Democratic Congressman is scheduled to publicly endorse Garballey on Sunday at 4PM at Restaurante Olivio, located at 201 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington. The event is open to the public.

Garballey also received the endorsement of Governor Deval Patrick last week in Arlington.

Republican candidate and former Arlington Town Moderator John Worden has launched a website, www.DemocratsforWorden.com, that lists endorsements from Democrats from Arlington and Medford.

Worden says the response to the website has been “heartening,” and that “many” supporters of Jeff Thielman, the Democratic Arlington School Committee member that lost to Garballey in the primary, are supporting his campaign.

John Worden“On March 4, I will, for one of the very few times in my life, cross party lines and vote for a Republican. I am vigorously supporting John Worden…” said Democrat Charles Gallagher.
