Fundraiser Friday for Fire Victims

Malden Family Lost Everything in Fire

A special fundraiser has been organized for a Malden family that lost everything in a fire in their home several weeks ago.

The fundraiser will take place Friday, April 25 from 7PM to 11PM at the VFW at 114 Mystic Avenue in Medford. Tickets are $25 for individuals and $40 for couples. The price includes a raffle for a flat screen TV, Red Sox tickets, autographed Aerosmith memorabilia, and other items.

The event includes a cash bar, raffle and door prizes, a silent auction, and free entertainment provided by local songwriters and comedians that have donated their time. Comedian Sarah Blodgett, singer-songwriters Colleen Sexton and Kelly Riley, and alternative rock band Death by Fame will all perform.

Tickets are available at the door. Additional contributions can be made by sending checks payable to The McNeilly Family Relief Fund, Jenny Craig, 1398 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA 02476, ATTN: Nicole/FUND. Clothing and furniture donations will also be accepted at the Arlington office.

The McNeilly family lost their home and their possessions in a fire on the evening of Thursday, April 3. Lisa McNeilly, a Medford native, works for Jenny Craig in Medford and the company has helped the family find shelter, toys, furniture, and helped organize Friday’s event. The McNeilly’s have three children ages eight, five, and three.
