Newly-elected State Representative Sean Garballey (D-Arlington) has launched an informational blog to keep his Medford and Arlington residents up to date on his positions and other news.

Currently the blog, which was launched in late May and uses the popular blogging software WordPress, provides information about local aid for Medford and Arlington and lets voters know where Rep. Garballey stands on recent issues to come before the House such as a trans fat ban and funding for the Green Line extension, two measures which Rep. Garballey supported.

“Expanding public transportation will not only help more working families during these hard times, it will help to control the impact we have on our environment and lessen our dependence on oil. I welcome your thoughts on this issue,” wrote Rep. Garballey about the Green Line extension.

In addition to Rep. Garballey, State Representative Paul Donato (D-Medford) recently launched an informational blog, the Paul Donato Report, which uses Blogger as its platform. Rep. Donato’s site has not been updated since March but does include archives from his old site that date back to June of 2006.

State Representative Carl Sciortino (D-Somerville) has a personal website, ElectCarl.org, and State Senator Patricia Jehlen (D-Somerville) maintains PatJehlen.org to keep voters informed. Both Sciortino and Jehlens’ websites allow voters to sign up for electronic newsletters.
