Cold Stone Creamery is attempting to capture the youth market by having young contestants in an ice cream creation contest spread the word to friends and neighbors via such things as MySpace and Facebook.

Medford High School senior Kerri Coughlin has a shot at winning $30,000 in prizes from Cold Stone Creamery if she can get enough people to vote for her special ice cream creation by September 30.

Coughlin has created “Not Your Average Cheesecake,” a mix of cheesecake ice cream, Snickers candy, graham cracker pie crust, and whipped cream. Coughlin attracted the attention of Cold Stone Creamery with her online application and was picked from thousands of applicants to move on to the next round.

To vote for Kerri, simply head to a local Cold Stone Creamery- there is one in Medford at Station Landing and one in Charlestown at Citysquare- purchase her “Not Your Average Cheesecake” or any other Imix ice cream creation, and enter a code from a sticker on the receipt online at IMixAmerica.com.
