Mayor Michael J. McGlynn announced plans for the 20th Anniversary of the City’s Annual Holiday Celebration and Jingle Bell Festival, which will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, from 4:30PM – 7 PM at Medford City Hall.

“Thanks to the generosity of Comcast, this annual cultural event will be able to go on as planned, as Medford continues the tradition of celebrating the diversity of the holiday season,” said Mayor McGlynn in a written statement.

The free event will feature the lighting of City Hall, Medford Square, the Hanukkah Menorah, the Christmas Tree and the Kwanza Kinara. Entertainment will be provided for all ages with Loren & Wally Live from 105.7 WROR’s Morning Show featuring Medford native Hank Morse, and Radio Disney’s Rockin’ Road Show. In addition, there will be face painting, an ice sculpture artist, pony rides, a kiddie moonwalk, merry-go-round, and a temporary tattoo artist.

The annual Decorated Tree Festival will be hosted inside the Council Chamber and there will be bake sales, raffles and the opportunity to obtain personalized letters to Santa, who will also make a special visit. “In the spirit of the holiday season, I am asking everyone to bring along a new, unwrapped toy for the United States Marines Annual Toys for Tots Campaign.
