Aghiarian Recognized by MHS and Papa Gino’s for his Commitment to his Team, Community

Papa Gino’s and Medford High School are pleased to honor Steven Aghiarian as a “Game Time” student athlete for the month of October. Nominated by Medford High School’s Athletic Department, Steven Aghiarian received the award for his ability to be a “game time” player for his golf team, as well as his community and school. Aghiarian will be recognized as the Medford Papa Gino’s October “Game Time” winner and will have his name and photo prominently displayed at the Medford Papa Gino’s counter.

“Papa Gino’s continues to honor student athletes and support community and sports teams within Medford. We are pleased to have Tedy Bruschi as our spokesperson for the way he “feeds” his team and community and the example he sets for all student athletes. By honoring Steven Aghiarian, we are honoring the character and skills that this student brings to the practice field, classroom, and community,” said Michael McManama, Senior Vice President of Brand Development for Papa Gino’s.

Aghiarian will receive a free team dinner at Papa Gino’s. The “Game Time” athlete will also have an opportunity to be one of 25 “Game Time” student athletes selected to meet Tedy Bruschi at a closed Papa Gino’s event in March 2009.

“We strongly recommend Steven Aghiarian because he is a great athlete, student, and person. We’re pleased that Papa Gino’s is sponsoring this program and providing us with another way to honor our outstanding student athletes,” said Bob Maloney, Medford High School Athletic Director.

Aghiarian is a member of the Medford High School golf team. His teammates and he won the Greater Boston League Championship, the first in school history for the team. The undefeated team had a perfect 8-0 record and qualified for the state tournament for only the second time in its forty-year history. Last season, Aghiarian was the first Mustang golfer to qualify for states as an individual since 1975, when his coach Ray Dyer qualified as a senior.
