Medford Youth Softball Opens April 26

Medford Youth Girls Softball (MYGS) League will celebrate its 2009 season on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Hickey Park. The celebration begins at 1:00 pm. Rudy Sands will sing the national anthem and Mayor Michael McGlynn will throw out the first pitch. The celebration will be followed by the first game of the season where the major league Angels will take on the Cubs. The first game will be followed by other two other major league games at 3:00 and 5:00 pm. MYGS extends an open invitation to participate in the day’s event.

Individual and team photos will also be taken throughout the day. Coaches will inform players of their scheduled photo time. Players are also encouraged to check the MYGS website at http://www.eteamz.com/mygs for scheduled picture and game times.

Medford Youth Girls Softball League (MYGS) is one of the fastest growing sports leagues in the city of Medford, Massachusetts. More than 350 girls in grades 1 through 8 play in our fun, parent-supported league. The league prides itself on maintaining friendly competition while teaching girls about teamwork, sportsmanship, courtesy, discipline and integrity.
