Deveney Selected to Lead St. Joseph School
|Medford Public Schools Principal Retiring This Year
Sources say soon-to-be retired McGlynn Middle School Principal Jim Deveney has been selected as the new principal for the Saint Joseph School.
Deveney is retiring after many years of service in Medford, including stints as principal at the McGlynn Middle School, the former Lincoln Middle School, and the former Hervey, Swan, and Kennedy elementary schools. He also was a teacher at the former Roberts Middle School.
“My years in the Medford district have been a rewarding and happy experience…I have found Medford’s students to be personal, industrious and products of good home environments. Having dealt with over 10,000 families in my career here, the support has been phenomenal,” wrote Deveney in a message about his retirement on the McGlynn Middle School website.
He will take over St. Joseph’s for Sister Maureen Joseph, who is stepping down after twenty-five years at the helm.
According to the St. Joseph School’s website, a meet the principal event is planned for Wednesday morning.
