Century Bank Unveils Medford Square Garden

Garden Dedicated to Rose M. Sloane, Mother of Bank Chair

Sloane Garden Dedication

Century Bank recently dedicated the plaza in front of its Medford Square branch in honor of Rose M. Sloane. The “Rose Garden” has special significance to both the bank and its owners, the Sloane family. The garden is across the street from the former location of the family’s Sloane Furniture Store, which was opened in 1948 by Jacob and Rose Sloane, the parents of Marshall M. Sloane, Founder and Chairman of Century Bank. Above, Marshall Sloane unveils the garden’s commemorative plaque while his family members, Medford Mayor Michael McGlynn, and others look on.
