Council to Meet Tuesday, July 28

Medford City CouncilThe Medford City Council will meet Tuesday, July 28 and has a fairly packed agenda.

In addition to its regular 7PM meeting, the Council will convene a Committee of the Whole meeting in Room 207 at 5:30PM to discuss the South Medford Traffic Study. That meeting will be followed by another Committee of the Whole meeting at 6:45 regarding City Solicitor Mark Rumley’s opinion on an Executive Session of the Mystic Valley Development Commission.

The Council is expected to tackle a number of items during its 7PM meeting, according to an agenda released by City Clerk Ed Finn. Items on the agenda include a presentation on charter schools by School Superintendent Roy Belson and Associate State Education Commissioner Jeffrey Wulfson; a petition for a Common Victualler License by the owners of Ebisuya, a new Asian market expected to open in August in Medford Square; and a discussion about the MBTA’s proposal to reduce or eliminate some bus routes, among other items.
