Former Heisman Trophy winner and New England Patriots quarterback Doug Flutie can now be found on the baseball diamond in the inaugural season of the Reading Bulldogs. Flutie, who spent twelve years as a professional football player, is batting .231 (4 for 13) for the 6-4 Bulldogs. The Natick Native and Boston College football star will be in Medford on Friday when the Bulldogs are in town against the Andre Chiefs (the game was rescheduled from Thursday). The game is at 6:00pm at Tufts University. Above, Flutie plays the field on June 20 during the Bulldogs’ 2-0 victory over the Medford Americans.

InsideMedford.com has learned that Flutie was not at Friday’s game due to a charity commitment. However, the Bulldogs will be in Medford three more times during the season. Reading will visit the Chiefs again at Tufts University on June 30 and will square off against the Medford Americans at Playstead Park on July 8 and July 29.
