Andre ChiefsAndre Chiefs Lose Road Game to Wakefield, 5-1

Wakefield righty Kevin Tidmarsh of Trinity College threw a complete game five-hitter to lead the Merchants to a 5-1 win over the Andre Chiefs in Intercity League Baseball action on Sunday. Former Boston College star Steve Langone, who later went on to play in the Boston Red Sox farm system, led the Merchants’ 12 hit offense with a single and RBI triple.

Despite the loss, the Chiefs remain in first place with a 9-3-1 record. The Chiefs travel to Victory Field in Watertown on Tuesday night to meet the Watertown Reds at 8:00PM. The team returns home to Tufts University on Wednesday at 6:00PM to entertain Doug Flutie and the Reading Bulldogs. On Thursday, the Chiefs will meet the Arlington Trojans, also at Tufts University, at 6:00PM.

Medford AmericansMedford Americans Pick Up Win Over Arlington Trojans

Kevin Hayes picked up the win with a five-hitter as the Americans beat the Arlington Trojans 6-3 at Playstead on Sunday. Charlie Pagliarulo, Steve Napier and Mark Addesa each had two hits and Mike Burgoyne had a couple of RBI’s for the Americans.

The Americans are back in action this week with two home games. They host the Wakefield Merchants on Tuesday and the Lexington Blue Sox on Thursday. Both games are at 6:00PM at Playstead Park.
