AC XC Defeats Archbishop Williams

The Arlington Catholic girls and boys cross country teams continued their winning ways by defeating Archbishop Williams of Braintree on Wednesday afternoon.

The Cougar girls improved to 4-0 with the win. Freshman Kaitlin McCauley (Watertown) finished first for AC and second overall, followed by sophomore Janelle Solviletti (Woburn) in third, junior captain Brigid Kirkpatrick (Medford) in fifth, senior captain Lauren Reis (Arlington) in sixth, and juniors Becca Gonsalves-Lamontagne and Mary Stanton, both of Woburn, in seventh and eighth, respectively.

The boys remain at 3-1, having endured a 1-point loss to defending league champ Bishop Fenwick earlier in the season.

Sophomore Kevin Connors of Belmont led the way for the Cougars, finishing the race in first place. Senior captain Joe Donlon (Stoneham) finished second, followed by junior Kyle Liberti (Medford) in third, junior Chris Laffery (Billerica) sixth, and Nolan Hart (Medford) in eighth place.

Next up for the Cougars is the Bay State Cross Country Championships in Wrentham on Saturday, October 2.
