Mustang Soccer Blanks Everett

Girls, Boys Shut Out Crimson Tide Wednesday

The Mustang girls and boys soccer teams shut out Everett on Wednesday.

The girls blanked the Crimson Tide, 6-0. Alisa Vita and Jamie deRosas each had one goal and Alessia LaRocco and Regine Jacques scored two goals for the Mustang.

Next up for the Lady Mustangs is a trip to Somerville for a Friday afternoon game. On Monday the girls will host Dracut under the lights at 6:30pm.

The boys defeated Everett under the lights 2-0. Senior captain Cesar Silva and junior John Dumbuya scored the Mustangs’ two goals. Medford controlled the game from the first kick and a great overall team effort helped bring the Mustangs to victory. Senior Chris Moura, normally a midfielder, really stepped up and played an uncharacteristic defensive position, and junior Jeff Mwangi never let up in his control of play throughout the midfield and sidelines, said Boys Freshman Soccer Coach Mike Cugno.

The Mustangs are 5-1 and are currently on top of the GBL with Wednesday’s win over Everett. Medford hosts Somerville at 4:00pm on Friday.

Video highlights of the boys’ game are available online.
