The Mustang boys soccer team is looking to win and proved it when the team took the field against Everett and Brighton. Now Medford is preparing to face another Greater Boston League rival in the state tournament after defeating the Brighton Bengals 2-1 on Monday.
The young Mustangs really came through against Brighton, with sophomore Jonathan Pires scoring Medford’s first goal and freshman Matheus Anastacio netting the second. Anastacio’s goal is his second in the state tournament.
Medford will host Coach George Scarpelli and the Somerville Highlanders under the lights at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 10.
The winner of Wednesday’s quarter final game will play either Brookline or Lincoln-Sudbury.
Video highlights of the Everett and Brighton games are available online.
