Running Out of Places to Put the Snow

Mounds of snow as tall as high school freshmen, like the one pictured above, are all over the city, obscuring the view from driveways and at intersections. Mayor Michael McGlynn said the city has dumped snow at parks, the high school, and the Wright’s Pond parking lot and is running out of places to put it all. Record snow fall has blanketed the area, with around a foot of snow expected to accumulate by the end of the day Wednesday, and residents are left wondering where to put the additional snow when shoveling out. Dumping it in front of someone else’s house or on the street are big no-no’s, and Mayor McGlynn said the city is collecting a list of people who have put snow on the street. The fine for the first offense is $50 and $100 for each additional offense.
