Police Arrest 3 for House Breaks

Medford Police arrested three people on Thursday for allegedly breaking into and stealing items from two homes.

Paul Spencer IIIWhile police were on scene at a Forest Street home on Thursday afternoon investigating a past house break they received word of one in progress not too far away. A witness saw a young white male break into the basement window of a house on Governors Avenue in broad daylight. The witness saw the person flee the scene while hiding something under his jacket into a waiting silver pickup truck with two people in it. The truck then sped towards Medford Square.

Maria DesimoneThe truck didn’t get very far before Officer Eleanor Whalen saw it on Main Street turning onto Route 16 East. Officer Whalen attempted to stop the truck and the driver started to pull over before speeding off, doing this several times. Officer Joseph Casey assisted at the scene and was able to help stop the vehicle.

Police say the three were involved with both house breaks based upon the witness’ positive ID and the identification of the stolen property by the rightful owners.

Doug Bergeron (top right), 29, of Medford, Paul Spencer III (left), 24, of Medford, and Maria Desimone, 38, of Revere, were arrested and charged with two counts of break and entering a dwelling in the day time to commit a felony, two counts of receiving stolen property over $250, and possession of burglarious tools.
