Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist, Washington Post associate editor and best-selling author Bob Woodward was the 14th speaker in the Richard E. Snyder President’s Lecture Series on Monday at Tufts University. Woodward, probably best know for his reporting with Carl Bernstein on the Watergate scandal during the Nixon presidency, has written several books and his latest, Obama’s Wars, describes internal divisions and infighting among administration officials and military leadership as the president weighed strategies to fight the Taliban and also withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan. Woodward offered his thoughts on the American presidency, delivering a lecture entitled “From Nixon to Obama.” He called the concentration of power in the government “breathtaking” and ever-increasing with each administration, which he also said is a threat to democracy.
