Girls lacrosse team and Coach Galusi

Both the boys and girls varsity lacrosse teams will be making return trips to the state tournament this season. The girls team has its best record in program history and its the first season the boys team has earned eleven wins.

The Lady Mustangs will open up the state tournament on the road at Reading on Memorial Day. The 16-4 Mustangs are the tenth seed out of sixteen teams vying for the North Division 1 title. Reading, 15-4, is seeded seventh. Monday’s game is at 11am at Reading Stadium.

The winner will likely play second seed Lincoln-Sudbury (16-2), who is scheduled to take on fifteenth seed Peabody (10-6) on June 1. Last year after defeating Haverhill in the preliminary round the Mustangs fell to Lincoln-Sudbury. Medford is back with a vengeance this year and is looking to continue to make history.

The boys varsity lacrosse team opens up the state tournament on the road at Brookline on June 1. The Mustangs, 11-6, have been seeded 22nd out of twenty-six teams in East Division 1, while Brookline, 13-5, received the 11th seed. Medford and Brookline clashed earlier in the season in a non-league game and Brookline ended up on top, so the Mustangs are definitely looking to get their revenge. The winner will play Lexington (#6, 14-5) on June 4.

Full tournament details are available on the MIAA website.
