Andrews Assistant Principal Appointed to Head Gig

Paul D'AllevaPaul D’Alleva, current Assistant Principal of the Andrews Middle School, will take over as head principal next year to replace outgoing Principal Tim Blake.

Mr. D’Alleva formerly coached gymnastics at Medford High School and taught chemistry and physics at MHS before becoming Assistant Principal at the Andrews, a position he has held for the past four years. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Suffolk University.

The appointment was announced during Monday night’s School Committee meeting. Mr. D’Alleva addressed the Committee and said he is looking forward to his new position.

School Superintendent Roy Belson said after a comprehensive search and public interview process to fill the position, it became clear Mr. D’Alleva was the best person for the job.

“It became obvious to us this would be the best decision,” said Supt. Belson.

Supt. Belson also said the district is still currently looking to fill the assistant principal position and would like to promote from within.
