Local Man Helps K-9 Receive Bullet Proof Vest

Marco, MacGilvray, Ross

Thanks to the kindness of a local man Medford Police K-9 “Marco” can walk the streets a little safer. Andy Ross, Medford native and long-time friend of Office Harold MacGilvray, made an $850 to Vest-A-Dog in Marco’s name. Vest-A-Dog provides working K-9’s with a ballistic vest to help protect them as they perform police work. As a result of Ross’ donation, MacGilvray’s K-9 Marco was fitted for a ballistic vest (commonly referred to as a bullet proof vest).

“We are very fortunate to have citizens like Andy in Medford…Thanks to citizens like Andy Ross and organizations like VEST-A-DOG, working police K-9s like Marco will be a little safer as they help keep our citizens safe,” said a statement from Medford Police.

Last week Officer MacGilvray, Vest-A-Dog president Kathy Hinds, and retired Medford K-9 Officer Frank Femino presented Ross with a plaque recognizing him for his “kindness and thoughtfulness as a citizen.”
