Route 93 Bridge, Road Work Update

The following lane closures are scheduled to occur this weekend
(Friday, September 23-Sunday, September 25):

Route I-93 Northbound

– Double left lane closures between Exit 29 (Route 28/38) and Exit 33 (Route 28) on Friday, September 23 between 8 PM and 8 AM.

– Single right lane closure between Exit 29 (Route 28/38) and Exit 33 (Route 28) on Saturday, September 24 between 8 AM and 3 PM.

– Double right lane closures between Exit 29 (Route 28/38) and Exit 33 (Route 28) on Saturday, September 24 between 8 PM and 8 AM.

Route I-93 Southbound

– Double right lane closures between Exit 35 (Winchester Highlands) and Exit 33 (Route 28) on Friday, September 23 between 8 PM and 8 AM.

– Single right lane closure between Exit 33 (Route 28) and Exit 29 (Route 28/38) on Saturday, September 24 between 8 AM and 3 PM.

– Double left lane closures between Exit 35 (Winchester Highlands) and Exit 33 (Route 28) on Saturday, September 24 between 8 PM and 8 AM.

The following lane closures are scheduled to occur throughout next week
(Monday, September 25-Friday, September 30):

Route I-93 Northbound

– Double left lane closures between Exit 28 (Sullivan Square) and Exit 33 (Route 28) on Sunday, September 25, Tuesday, September 27 and Thursday, September 29 between 8 PM and 5 AM.

– Double right lane closures between Exit 28 (Sullivan Square) and Exit 33 (Route 28) on Monday, September 26, and Wednesday, September 28 between 8 PM and 5 AM and on Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1 between 8 PM and 9 AM.

– Alternating single left or right lane closure between Exit 29 (Route 28/38) and Exit 33 (Route 28) on Monday, September 26 through Thursday, September 29 between 9 AM and 2 PM and on Friday, September 30 between 9 AM and 12 PM.

Route I-93 Southbound

– Double left lane closures between Exit 35 (Winchester Highlands) and Exit 28 (Sullivan Square) on Monday, September 26, Wednesday, September 28 and Thursday, September 29 between 8 PM and 5 AM and on Saturday, October 1 between 8 PM and 9 AM.

– Double right lane closures between Exit 35 (Winchester Highlands) and Exit 30 (Route 38) on Tuesday, September 27 between 8 PM and 5 AM and on Friday, September 30 between 8 PM and 9 AM.

– Alternating single left or right lane closure between Exit 35 (Winchester Highlands) and Exit 28 (Sullivan Square) on Monday, September 26 through Thursday, September 29 between 10 AM and 3 PM and on Friday, September 30 between 10 AM and 12 PM.

Local Roadways & Waterways

Riverside Avenue

– Periodic single lane or shoulder closures on Monday, September 26 through Friday, September 30 between 7 AM and 5 PM. Provisions for pedestrian access will be maintained.

Salem Street/Route 60 (East and West)

– Periodic single lane or shoulder closures on Monday, September 26 through Friday, September 30 between 7 AM and 5 PM. Provisions for pedestrian access will be maintained.

Valley Street/Route 28 South (Fellsway)

– Periodic single lane or shoulder closures on Monday, September 26 through Friday, September 30 between 7 AM and 5 PM. Provisions for pedestrian access will be maintained. The section of Valley Street beneath I-93 may be closed during these periods depending on the specific activities being undertaken and the associated work zone requirements.

Mystic River

– Barge placement and periodic movement within the Mystic River will reduce the navigable channel on Friday, September 23 through Friday, September 30.

Webster Street

– Periodic single lane or shoulder closures on Monday, September 26 through Friday, September 30 between 7 AM and 5 PM. Webster Street eastbound traffic may be detoured or restricted during these periods depending on the specific activities being undertaken and the associated work zone requirements. If an eastbound detour is not implemented, alternating one way traffic may be used. Provisions for pedestrian access will be maintained.

MassDOT encourages drivers to allow extra time for their trips and to reduce speed and use caution when travelling through or adjacent to all work zones.
