Harvest Your Energy Festival October 1

The City of Medford’s Office of Energy and Environment is pleased to announce that this Saturday, October 1st is the Harvest Your Energy Festival. Come celebrate and learn with us, 1-4PM behind the McGlynn School and Hormell Stadium, in Riverbend Park, at the base of “Windy” the wind turbine. If you haven’t been there before, please use the directions on our website http://medford.org/harvestyourenergy. GPS and Google maps do not provide accurate directions.

There will be live music from the following: The Bridgebuilders, The Reindeer Army, & Max Heinegg. There will be 20-minute presentations about the history and building of our wind turbine given by the meteorologist, Bob Paine, who was involved from the concept, siting and ribbon cutting of Windy, followed by tours and the opportunity to see the inside of the wind turbine.

Educational tables brought to you by the students and teachers of the Medford Public Schools, information on home solar panels, home energy audits, 0% interest loans for home energy projects, cloth diapers and much much more!

Supporters and vendors include the Medford Public Library, East Cambridge Savings Bank, Waste Management, MWRA, Dagle Electric, and Zip Car

Please come join us for this fun and educational day at the base of our wind turbine! In the event of rain the festival will be held in the cafeteria of the McGlynn School.
