Route 93 Bridge, Road Work Update

The following lane closures are scheduled to occur throughout the week:

Route I-93 Northbound

– Alternating double left or double right lane closures between Exit 29 (Routes 28/38) and Exit 34 (Route 28 North) on Sunday, October 2 through Thursday, October 6 between 8 PM and 5 AM.

– Alternating single left or right lane closure between Exit 29 (Route 28/38) and Exit 34 (Route 28 North) on Monday, October 3 through Thursday, October 6 between 9 AM and 2 PM.

Route I-93 Southbound

– Alternating double left or double right lane closures between Exit 35 (Winchester Highlands) and Exit 28 (Sullivan Square) on Sunday, October 3 through Thursday, October 6 between 8 PM and 5 AM.

– Alternating single left or right lane closures between Exit 35 (Winchester Highlands) and Exit 28 (Sullivan Square) on Monday, October 3 through Thursday, October 6 between 10 AM and 3 PM.

Local Roadways & Waterways

Salem Street/Route 60 (East and West)

– Periodic single lane or shoulder closures on Monday, October 3 through Thursday, October 6 between 7 AM and 5 PM. Provisions for pedestrian access will be maintained.

Mystic River

– Barge placement and periodic movement within the Mystic River will reduce the navigable channel on Friday, September 30 through Friday, October 7.

Route 16

– Periodic single lane or shoulder closures on Monday, October 3 through Thursday, October 6 between 7 AM and 5 PM. Provisions for pedestrian access will be maintained.

Webster Street

– Periodic single lane or shoulder closures on Monday, October 3 between 7 AM and 5 PM. Webster Street eastbound traffic may be detoured or restricted during these periods depending on the specific activities being undertaken and the associated work zone requirements. If an eastbound detour is not implemented, alternating one way traffic may be used. Provisions for pedestrian access will be maintained.

MassDOT encourages drivers and marine traffic to allow extra time for their trips and to reduce speed and use caution when travelling through or adjacent to all work zones.
