Route 93 Bridge, Road Work Update

Road and Bridge Work Scheduled for Friday, October 7-Tuesday, October 11

This weekend, work crews will undertake what is expected to be the last of a series of extended weekend work periods to implement road and bridge work associated with the completion of the replacement of fourteen bridges on I-93 in Medford. The work will take place primarily during night time and early morning hours on Friday, October 7th through Tuesday, October 11th.

The following lane closures are scheduled to occur this weekend:

Route I-93 Northbound

– Alternating double left or double right lane closures between Exit 29 (Routes 28/38) and Exit 34 (Route 28 North) on Friday, October 7 through Sunday, October 9 between 9 PM and 9 AM and on Monday, October 10 between 9 PM and 5 AM. A third lane may be closed between 12 AM and 6 AM on Friday through Sunday evenings and between 12 AM and 5 AM on Monday evening.

Route I-93 Southbound

– Alternating double left or double right lane closures between Exit 35 (Winchester Highlands) and Exit 28 (Sullivan Square) on Friday, October 7 through Sunday, October 9 between 9 PM and 9 AM and on Monday, October 10 between 9 PM and 5 AM. A third lane may be closed between 12 AM and 6 AM on Friday through Sunday evenings and between 12 AM and 5 AM on Monday evening.

MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes or modes of travel where possible. Drivers that must travel through this section of I-93 during the above time periods should allow extra time for their trips and reduce speed and use caution when travelling through or adjacent to all work zones.
