Council to Tour DPW Yards; Asks for Technology Update

On Tuesday, October 18 the Medford City Council’s Subcommittee on Public Works will meet to tour the City of Medford’s Public Works City Yards to consider needed repairs and capital improvement planning, according to information released by City Clerk Ed Finn.

The meeting will take place at 5:45PM at the City Yards, located at 21 James Street.

Members of the Council’s Subcommittee on Public Works are Councilors Michael Marks, Paul Camuso, and Robert Penta.

The entire City Council will also hold its weekly regular meeting on Tuesday. That meeting is at 7:00PM at Medford City Hall and is broadcast live on Channel 16. Items on the agenda include a resolution by Councilor Breanna Lungo-Koehn for the Council to receive an update on a proposal to upgrade the technology in the Medford Public Schools.

“It would be helpful to find out the extent of the project and a time frame as the council tries to piece together the needs of this community along with capital improvements. Having went to visit the Andrews recently and witnessing first hand the lack of computers in the computer lab was disturbing and frustrating,” said the resolution offered by Councilor Lungo-Koehn.

City Councilor Penta is offering a related resolution. Councilor Penta is requesting a discussion of “a long range, well-balanced technology upgrading for our schools, police, fire and municipal buildings.”
