Boys Basketball Team Defeats Burlington in Florida

Senior guard Maurice Magras led his team with twenty-three points in a victory over Burlington in Florida on Friday.

After playing a team from Virginia and a team from Ohio in a Florida tournament this week, the boys varsity basketball team finished up the tourney by drawing Burlington.

The Mustangs defeated Burlington 58-53 on Friday. The game was tied 24-24 at the half and was still tied after three. Senior guard Maurice Magras led his team with twenty-three points in the victory.

Medford went 2-1 in the tournament, defeating Castlewood, VA and Burlington, MA and losing a close one to Norton, OH. Head Coach Anthony Faradie said it was an “overall great experience for the kids.”

The Mustangs are now 4-1 heading into Tuesday’s game at Pope John. Medford won’t be back home until Everett comes to town on Friday, January 20 for a 7:00PM game.
