A 15-8 win over Malden on Monday handed the boys varsity lacrosse team an undefeated league title.

Despite the final score the game was close through three quarters.

“Malden did a great job clearing the ball and keeping possessions, and they seemed to have the fight as they came up with a lot of the ground balls,” said Coach Doyle. “We were up 9-8 going into the fourth quarter and were able to keep the ball away from Mlden for the most part, while scoring on some great feeds all around.”

Bozovic “had a great game,” leading his team with four goals and four assists. Chris McCarthy added three goals and four assists, Ryan McCarthy and Tortora each scored three goals, and Whooley scored two goals and added an assist. Mahoney “played very well on the ‘D’ side, picking up some key ground balls,” said Coach Doyle.

Medford is 11-2 heading into Friday night’s home game under the lights against Cambridge at 7pm.
