MHS Boys, Girls Tennis Qualify for State Tournament

The Medford High School boys and girls tennis teams will open the state tournament on Friday, June 1.

The girls, 12-5, are seeded 8th out of fifteen teams in North Division 2. They host #9 seed Cambridge (12-6) at Dugger Park in Medford at 4pm on Friday. This is the fourth straight season the Lady Mustangs have qualified for the state tournament.

The boys, 9-7, are seeded fourteenth out of seventeen teams in North Division 2. They head to Burlington (#3, 16-4) on Friday for a 2:30pm game.

If the girls win on Friday they will face top seed Winchester (16-0) on June 4.

If the boys win they will play either Danvers or Central Catholic next.

In other local tennis news, Malden Catholic, 10-10, also qualified in Division 2. The Lancers host Beverly, 9-9, on June 1.
