Medford’s two local Intercity League Baseball teams will meet for the firs time this season on Sunday afternoon.

The Andre Chiefs will visit the Medford Americans on their home turf at Playstead Park at 1:30PM on June 17.

The Chiefs, 2-0-2, face the Testa Corps. Bombers on the road on Thursday and at home on Saturday afternoon. Their latest victory was a 1-0 walkoff win over Wakefield on Tuesday.

The Americans, 3-2-1, are at home Thursday night against the Moody Dental Tanners and on Friday night against the Reading Bulldogs. The Americans have a strong connection to Medford High baseball, with assistant varsity coach Orazio Azzarello on the coaching staff and recent grads Dan Gilchrist, Chris Salvati, Tom Flores, Danny Gunn, and Mike Pizzi on the 2012 roster.
