The Medford American Legion Post 45 baseball team upset Natick with an impressive 8-1 rain-soaked road victory on Tuesday night.

Ryan Covelle (Malden Catholic) was “dominant” against Natick, said Coach Ryan Kozul. Covelle, who improved his record to 4-1 on the mound, struck out twelve and allowed only two hits.

“He had no-hitter type stuff, but two fly balls fell just out of reach of our fielders,” said Kozul.

Medford High School’s John Lavoie and Mike Koury each had a hit and scored a run while Arlington Catholic’s Ryan Carvalho had an RBI and a run scored.

The win advances Medford to the Chairman’s Cup Final Four, according to Coach Kozul. Medford will face Weston on Thursday at 7:15PM at Weston High School. Kozul said the format for the Final Four is double elimination. The other two teams are Lowell and Lexington.
