Watch Out for Crabs in Medford!

crew team fundraiser

When rowing, if a rower “catches a crab” they make a rowing error that can make it hard to remove their oar from the water or, worst case scenario, throw the rower from the boat.

This fall the Medford High School Crew Team is “crabbing” our friends, families, and neighbors. Look for crabs in your friends’, families’, and neighbors’ yard, along with a “Crabbed by the Medford High Rowing Team” sign. With a phone call to the “Crab Team” residents can have the crabs moved to a friend or neighbor’s lawn. If they want to make a donation to the Friend of Medford Rowing to help the crabs crawl away, it will be greatly appreciated. Crabs will begin to appear during the third week of September.

The Friends of Medford Rowing (FOMR) is a non-profit, 503(c) organization that raises money to support the Medford High School Rowing team. The FOMR purchases boats and supplies for the rowing team and maintains these boats and the dock at the Hormel sports complex.
