Century Bank Unveils Free Electric Car Charging Stations for Public Use

On Wednesday Medford Mayor Michael J. McGlynn dedicated Medford’s 24-hour Free Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, located in the parking lot of Century Bank’s headquarters at 400 Mystic Avenue in Medford. Century Bank has committed four prime parking spaces to provide free charging for electric vehicles in Medford.

Century Bank currently has a Chevy Volt, which is powered solely by electricity, in its fleet of courier cars and plans to add more. The charging installations at Century Bank are the only 24-hour free electric vehicle charging stations in Medford.

The electric vehicle charging stations are among the few private charging station installations in Massachusetts. While there are a number of cities and towns looking to add these stations, Century Bank’s installation of free charging stations for the people of Medford is a real testament to the Bank’s commitment to the community and to the environment.
