Medford, Malden Break Bread Before Big Game

On Tuesday afternoon Medford and Malden got together to enjoy lunch together before their historic 125th Thanksgiving Day game.

The lunch took place for the fifth straight year at John Brewer’s Tavern, a restaurant on the Medford/Malden line owned by Medford resident and former Mustang Bill Honeycutt. Invited guests included senior football players, senior cheerleaders, football coaches, school principals, athletic directors, and city and school administration.

John Brewer’s is home to a mural commemorating the historic Medford/Malden football rivalry, the third oldest high school rivalry in the country. The restaurant is also hosting a “Medford Night” on Friday, November 23. All are welcome to enjoy a DJ, trivia, and more starting at 8PM.
