Boys Hoops Earns Second Straight Win

– Allison Goldsberry

The Mustang boys varsity basketball team earned their second straight win of the season with a 43-34 road victory over Boston Latin on Friday night.

According to Coach Anthony Faradie, Medford managed to maintain a lead the entire game but Boston Latin did get within two points in the last quarter.

“It wasn’t the prettiest game but we will take the win,” said Faradie.

Faradie said key players got into foul trouble, including Sean Doncaster, Jhems Lemene, and James Hawkins. The Mustang defense was solid but offensively the team “couldn’t get much going.”

Coach Faradie praised Hawkins for some key rebounds.

“Hawkins did a great job on the boards for us and was in double digits for rebounds,” said Faradie.

Doncaster led Mustang scorers with eleven points.

Next up for Medford is a home game against Burlington on Wednesday.
