Sixty Degree Monday, Snow Possible Wednesday

– Allison Goldsberry

On an unseasonably warm Monday afternoon, the local temperature, sixty in some places, was warmer than the temperature in Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and New Orleans, according to WBZ-TV.

The average temperature for this time of year is thirty-six degrees, according to Weather.com. While Monday was quite balmy, seventy-two is actually the record for a January day in Boston.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for temperatures in the high thirties and low forties for the rest of the week.

There is a sixty percent chance of some snow and rain on Wednesday night, according to the forecast. The accumulation isn’t expected to be significant.

By contrast, this was the scene two years ago in mid-January when a blizzard dropped over a foot of snow on Medford is just a few hours.
