Pompeo Recalls War Service in 2007 Interview

Fred Pompeo, Sr., who passed away last week just shy of his 95th birthday, was a World War II veteran who spent four years in the army. He was a prisoner of war for six months after being injured during the Battle of the Bulge. Pompeo participated in an oral history project put together by Tom Convery and Jack Dempsey in 2007 for the Library of Congress. Pompeo was interviewed along with WWII vet Frank Bradley.
