Tufts Announces Upcoming Public Concerts

Fantasies and Impromptus with Thomas Stumpf March 10

The Tufts University Department of Music presents a concert by performance faculty pianist Thomas Stumpf in the Distler Performance Hall at the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 3 p.m. as part of the Sunday at Tufts – Community Concert Series.

Thomas Stumpf will perform works by Mozart, Schubert, and Chopin. The concert will also feature the world premiere of a work specially written for this occasion by John McDonald. Stumpf has performed as a soloist and collaborative pianist on four continents and is an avid composer. He is currently on faculty at Tufts University as piano teacher, chamber music coach, Co-Director of the Opera Ensemble, and staff pianist.

Sweet. Honey. Rock. – Tufts Chamber Singers March 10

he Tufts University Department of Music presents Sweet. Honey. Rock., a performance by the Tufts Chamber Singers in the Distler Performance Hall at the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 7 p.m. The concert will feature works by Scarlatti, Bruckner, Schuman, and Guillaume, as well as the music of Sweet Honey in the Rock. The Tufts Chamber Singers are conducted by Jamie Kirsch.
