Tufts Announces Upcoming Public Concerts

“Dinner and Dessert” March 12

The Tufts University Department of Music presents Dinner and Dessert, a performance faculty tubist Michael Milnarik, in the Distler Performance Hall at the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 8 p.m. This concert is rescheduled from its cancellation on February 10 due to winter storm Nemo.

Michael Milnarik will be performing with pianist Sanae Kanda and banjo player/vocalist Jimmy Mazzy. The night will start off with lush melodies for “dinner” and foot-stomping Dixieland jazz for “dessert.”

Tufts Symphony Orchestra Concert March 14

The Tufts University Department of Music presents the Tufts Symphony Orchestra in concert at the Distler Performance Hall at the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 8 p.m.

The Tufts Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert of works including Mozart’s Symphony No. 35 in D major (the “Haffner Symphony”), Borodin’s Symphony No. 2 in B minor, and Donizetti’s “O luce di quest’ anima” from Linda di Chamounix, featuring soprano soloist Suzanne Lis, winner of the TSO concerto competition. John Page will conduct.
