Salem Street Fire Damages Local Businesses, House

An early morning fire on Saturday damaged some local businesses on Salem Street and a nearby residential building. According to Boston.com, the fire spread from a block of stores to another building. The businesses affected, based upon the scene Sunday morning, appear to be a Chinese restaurant, a beauty supply store, an eyeglass shop, and a tattoo parlor. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The American Red Cross is assisting two families, a total of six people, with temporary shelter, clothing, and food, according to their Facebook page.
