Tufts Announces Upcoming Public Concerts

Tufts Grad Student Composers 2D April 3rd

The Tufts University Department of Music presents Tufts Grad Student Composers 2D, a concert of new works by Tufts composers Benjamin Pesetsky and Logan Wright in the Distler Performance Hall at the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 8 p.m.

The concert will feature new music performed by Jane Carter, cello; Elizabeth Erenberg, flute; Brandi Maxam, soprano; John McDonald, piano; the Tufts Flute Ensemble, Nina Barwell, director; and the Tufts ‘Reading’ String Quartet.

Classical Guitarist David Patterson April 7th

The Tufts University Department of Music presents a concert by performance faculty classical guitarist David Patterson in the Distler Performance Hall at the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 3 p.m. as part of the Sundays at Tufts – Community Concert Series.

Patterson will perform a variety of works for guitar, including “Songs from the Chinese” and “Nocturnal, Op. 70” by Benjamin Britten, “El Decameron Negro” by Leo Brouwer, and Carlos Domeniconi’s “Koyunbaba.” Special guest Karyl Ryczek, soprano, will join Patterson for “Songs from the Chinese”.

Wind Ensemble Concert April 8th

The Tufts University Department of Music is pleased to announce a concert by the Tufts University Wind Ensemble entitled Landscapes at Tufts University on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 8 p.m. in the Distler Performance Hall of the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center on Tufts’ Medford/ Somerville campus.

Music by the Tufts Wind Ensemble takes us to far away places, both real and imagined, featuring the Lord of the Rings Symphony by Johan de Meij as well as pieces by George Gershwin, Donald Erb, and Lars-Erik Larsson. John McCann, director
