Exhibition of Local Painters at Beebe Estate in May

A group of fine artists, several from Medford, will exhibit dozens of new paintings at the Beebe Estate in Melrose during May. The artists will host an opening reception on Friday, May 3, 7:00-9:00 p.m.

This exhibit will highlight the works of six contemporary artists including Cambia Davis, whose vivid still lifes have found an enthusiastic following among local collectors; Linda Scola, award-winning landscape painter and experienced painting instructor; Marilyn Davidson, longtime organizer of the West Medford Open Studios and imaginative collage artist; Francis Viens, watercolorist and art teacher extraordinaire at Dracut High School; Kathy Connors, retired teacher who pursues watercolor with a deft hand; and Jennifer Cheng DesAutels, published children’s illustrator.

The exhibit is free and open to the public 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every Saturday in May. The artists will be present to discuss their work at the opening reception.

Accomplished Medford watercolorist Cambia Davis curated the exhibit. One of her goals was to highlight the richness of artistic talent in Medford and surrounding towns. The works in the exhibit depict still lifes, local scenes, and landscapes done on site in the plein air tradition. Many of the pieces will be offered for sale.
