Strawberry Fest ‘Summer Showdown’ June 27th

strawberries

Indulge your greedy side by gathering up pints and pints of local sweet strawberries. Enter our Strawberry Bakeoff to win a beautiful planted Strawberry Pot. Let your little kids show off their artistic side by decorating a paper strawberry. And set your older kids to making their own tie-dyed fabric creations. Our Strawberry Fest will have something for everyone!

Our produce vendors will of course be bringing lots of fresh, ripe, locally grown strawberries for you to feast on. Also try out some strawberry bread from Fornax Bread, strawberry desserts from JannaBee’s, and strawberry-rhubarb donuts (really!) from Union Square Donuts.

Are you a dessert chef? Do you want to be? Longing to try out a new recipe using sweet seasonal strawberries? Enter your creation in our Strawberry Bakeoff, and you could win a gorgeous, already planted Strawberry Pot from Doolittle Flora!

To enter the Strawberry Bakeoff, just email medfordfarmersmarket@gmail.com with your name (and what you are bringing, if you know).

And here’s a great, fun idea you and your family can all enjoy at the Strawberry Fest: Strawberry tie-dye! Bring along a light-color T-shirt, pair of socks, headband, onesie—whatever you like, and our tie-dye artist Corinne will help you create a really unique piece of fabric art to take home! If you don’t have anything to dye, we will give you a bandana to use. Wrap your piece with rubber bands to create patterns, color it with red and green dye (non-toxic of course), and seal it in a plastic zip-lock bag to take home and dry.

See you this Thursday at the Farmers Market, as well as next Thursday for Strawberry Fest!
